Melee Physical Damage is a support gem that grants more physical damage to attacks made with the supported melee skill. Witch PoE 3.8 Summon Ice Golem Elementalist High Damage Build (PC, PS4, Xbox) This Ice golem golemancer build was completed after a lot of testing in the early stage. You can hit 420k+ single ice golem dmg x6 +670k cyclone hit. In the 1 week race I had a chance to try out the new vendor recipe in Path of Exile - it's amazing! With it you can easily craft yourself a decent to very good leveling weapon.

- + Tectonic slam – Faster attack / Multistrike – Damage on Full Life/ Ruthless / Weapon elemental damage – Melee phys – Inc Crit strikes – Inc AOE/Conc. Note: Since we are not utilize in Endurance charges, using Multistrike is a good option for DPS. Otherwise, find a ring with Warlord mark on hit for charges generation. MOVEMENT.
- Sep 12, 2017 so from what I gather, phys damage increases bleed damage. Increased damage over time and increased damage with ailments caused by attacks also increase bleed damage. However, only flat phys increase (increased physical damage passives) and increase in phys with the weapon you're using (like increaed physical damage with bows if you're using a bow) will scale bleed.
The whole build is about the 2Handed Sword Starforge. Ancestral Warchief will play an imporatant role in this build. Ancestral Warchief is a skill that creates a totem which will attack enemies with melee AoE slams while the player stands close to it.
It gives us huge stats, like 20% Aoe (so we can easy play with conc effect all the time) +100 Life, over 700phys dmg and the best part 'Your physical dmg can Shock' BUT its shocks are not from itself so you still need '%chance to shock' which we get through our jewels.

Pros & Cons
Pro
- + All Maps and Mods are easypeasy
- + ~ 6k Life
- + 8,7k armor -> 46% phys reduction
- + 75% Chaos Res
- + over 400 Life/s
- + Physical can Shock
- + Immune to Bleed
- + Double Curse
Cons
- - Still Totem Playstyle
- - No Movement Gem
Skill Tree
Ascendancy
We take the Berserker Class for most DMG
First we go to War Bringer because this will be our main heal skill
After that we take the Aspect of Carnage and with the next 2 points from the Merc/Uber Lab we take Rite of Ruin to get the double bonus from our Rage stacks (picking Rite of Ruin at last helps us doing a smoother Ulab run for ourself, because of the lower degen from 5%. After the Ulab and Rite of Ruin we have 10% degen at max Rage stacks).

Abyssus gives us the most adds # - # physical dmg to attacks ingame
Low Budget
Gems: CWDT -> Immortal Call -> Increased Duration -> Stone Golem
High Budget
Gems: Shield Charge -> Faster Attacks -> Fortify -> Culling Strike
Shield
Low Budget
The Great Old One's Ward is the best Physical attack dmg Shield. The Vix Lunaris is a good Quality of Life tradeoff with the 'Cannot be Frozen' and with the right corruption you can go up to a lvl 25er Herald of Purity and you dmg will be nearly the same. We take Hatred and the Purity Herald. The other slot is open for your choice. e.g. a Vaal Haste, or a Portal gem etc
Gems: Herald of Purity -> Hatred -> XXX
High Budget
The Tukohama's Fortress shield is way more expensive than the Great Old One's Ward, but u get nice Life, Totem DMG, +1 Totems(!!), 300 Armor per Totem (3 Totems = 900 Armor). The Blood Magic can be a downside, but we use it anyway so.. ;)
Gems: CWDT -> Immortal Call -> Increased Duration
Armours
The best and cheapest Armour for us is the Loreweave. This armour gives us a huge dps boost, some life and raises the max resistances up to 80% (and they are fix, wich means they cant go higher through flasks, but also cant go lower from map mods like -12% max res). The Belly of the Beast is good alternative with around ~ +700 life
Gems: Ancestral Warchief, -> Melee Damage, -> Damage on Full Life, -> Increased Aoe (Concentrated Effect) -> Maim -> Faster Attacks
Switch Increased Area to Conc Effect for Hard Bosses. You can switch Faster Attacks with Ruthless if you feel you have enough attack speed (wich is also a dmg increase)
No more installing 5 different apps, each for its own purpose – maccleaner does it all. Although it’s true that Mac’s do not get viruses as often as Windows, but they do still get them!In fact, there are new viruses popping up every day (and malware programs), that are directly targeting Mac computers! If your Mac got exposed to such a virus in any way, you’d be happy you got a real Mac cleaner (which includes an anti-virus program) that will either block the virus all together, or locate and destroy it before it harms to your files and passwords.Keeping your computer protected from malware and viruses, is not something all Mac cleaning software programs include. Why do you even need an Antivirus software?Mac owners (or Apple fans) answer to this question is usually “No, I do not need an anti-virus program for my Mac, because Mac’s don’t get viruses”. ![Mac computer cleaner software download](/uploads/1/2/5/0/125060382/990251926.png)

Gloves
The Facebreaker should be clear - if you can, get some with a Curse on hit corruption, Temporal Chains for defense or Elemental Weakness / Vulnerability for offence. Vulnerability is stronger at the beginning and Elemental Weakness is stronger with min-maxed gear/flasks. Instead of Vaal Lightning Trap you can also use a Vaal Cold Snap for a good and free Frenzy Charge generation.
Gems: Enduring Cry -> Increased Duration -> Blood Magic -> Vaal Lightning Trap(Vaal Cold Snap)
Belts
The Meginord is BIS. The Darkness Enthroned is a good upgrade from the Meginord (with the right jewels ofc). The Headhunter is best for Mapping as always (you get the Mods when your Totems kill a Rare)
Boots
Low Budget
The Atziri's Steps for Spell Dodge, Life and high armour (because iron reflexes: evasion = armour). Good Alternatives are the Redblade Tramplers or some rares with resistance, life and movementspeed (e.g. if you use the Bloodgrip Amulet). The Death's Door are way more expensive but give also good Quality of Life bonus with 'Cannot be inflicted with Bleeding'.
Gems: Shield Charge -> Faster Attacks -> Fortify -> Blood MAgic
High Budget
Death's Door Boots is a good choice. Bleed Immunity, All Res, up to 40 STR and good Movement Speed. The only Downside is the 50% Increased Status Ailments Duration, wich can be easy compared with a Freeze Flask. Instead of Vaal Lightning Trap you can also use a Vaal Cold Snap for a good and free Frenzy Charge generation.
Gems: CWDT -> Stone Golem -> Vaal Lightning Trap(Vaal Cold Snap) -> Increased Duration
Rings & Amulet
Rings and Amulet with high adds # - # Physical damage to Attacks and all Resistance you need, because its the way for us to cap our Res (my are not bad but they should have a high liferoll too, Steel Rings are ofc the BIS). Another good Amulet is the Bloodgrip, wich provides nearly bleed immunity (good for the Labyrinth), ~100 life reg, good life roll and average phys dmg. Best in slot would be a Shaper/Elder Amulet with additional dmg mods.
Jewels
The normal Jewels you need should have these Stats: %Max life -> Phys dmg -> Add phys dmg while holding a shield. Melee dmg, Increased dmg, Area dmg and Totem dmg are all at the same dmg level. You can also take some with Attack speed if you feel the need.
Your Abyss Jewels should have the highest Flat Physical Dmg roll as possible (max is 5-8) together with a good life roll (i prefer 35+). After that you have 1 open Prefix and 1 open Suffix on them for your prefered bonus.
But keep in mind that you have to take the projectile notes because you only get the bonus for UNALLOCATED notes
Flasks
The first Flasks we need are a Bleed (if u dont use the Bloodgrip Amulet) and Freeze Immunity one (You can take a Life Flask for it. If you dont feel the need you can also pick a Basalt Flask for Defense or a Silver Flask for Offence). After that try to get the Lion's Roar (best dmg flask) and Taste of Hate (good defense and offence). Sin's Rebirth (good defense and offence and 3 (!!) uses) or the Atziri's Promise, wich is imo the little Brother compared to Sins' Rebirth
Enchantments
Helmet
For DMG:
- 40% increased Ancestral Warchief Totem Damage
- Ancestral Warchief Totem grants 30% increased Melee Damage while Active
- 30% increased Vulnerability Curse Effect
- For Defense:
- 30% increased Enduring Cry Cooldown Recovery Speed
- 36% increased Enduring Cry Buff Effect
- 30% increased Temporal Chains Curse Effect
- For Others:
- 12% increased Ancestral Warchief Totem Radius
Boots
For DMG:
- 10% chance to Freeze, Shock and Ignite if you haven't Crit Recently (wich is BIS with additional 10% chance to shock)
- For Defense:
- Regenerate 2.0% of Life and Mana per second if you were Hit Recently
- 8% chance to Dodge Spell Damage if you've taken Spell Damage Recently
- 10% Chance to Dodge if you've taken a Critical Strike Recently
- For Others:
- 10% increased Movement Speed if you haven't been Hit Recently
Gloves
For Defense:
- Cast Commandment of Reflection when Hit (because the clone takes some dmg for you)
Leveling
Skill Tree
The most important thing is Resolute Technique. You can decide to pick Ancestral Bond as fast as you want. I picked the Jewel slots at the very end, BUT you can pick them asap if you get some juicy jewels you want to put in.
Note: These Parts are only for showing you the way through the Tree. Don't look at the Ascendancy or Bandits here, they might be wrong/different from the main Build!
Gems
- At lvl 1 take Ground Slam/Cleave/Molten Strike and the Ruthless gem.
- At lvl 8 take Maim and take Additional Accuracy until u get the 'Resolute Technique' Note
- At lvl 10 take Shield Charge for Movement (wich is also nice for lvling if you have some Facebreaker)
- At lvl 12 Take Sunder instead of you lvl 1 gem until you have the Warchief Totem (note: you cant use sunder with facebreaker)
- At lvl 16 take the Facebreaker. If you dont have some, pick a Rare/Unique 2Hand weapon with high physical Dmg (With Facebreaker i prefer lvling with Infernal Blow + Melee Splash/Ancestral Call and Shield Charge).
- At lvl 18 take Faster Attacks, Melee Physical Damage, Melee Damage on Full Life and Concentrated Effect
- At lvl 28 take Ancestral Warchief
- At lvl 38 take increased Area of Effect

Slams the ground with a Mace, Axe or Staff, creating a wave of broken ground that damages enemies in an area in front of you. Enemies hit by the wave will release a circular shockwave, dealing damage to other enemies around them.
Sunder is a melee attack creating a wave that travels forward and damages enemies in a straight line. Enemies hit by the wave release circular shock waves that further damage nearby enemies. Requires an axe, mace or staff.

Pros & Cons
Pros
- + Fast
- + Tanky.
- + Above-average DPS.
- + It's a Phys-attack build that can run phys reflect maps.
- + Completely immune to phys reflect enemies or maps.
- + The gear is absolutely cheap as chips to obtain.
- + Levelling is easy, as is the final Kitava kill without the need for Twink quality gear.
- + You can face-tank the entire Uber Lab in under 5 min's while collecting keys and shrines along the main path. You can do this over and over and over again with basically no risk of death.
- + Uber-Lab faming will make you filthy rich in a number of different ways, all through the length of a season. Then back in standard mode, too. This is applicable even in 7-day+ race leagues, too.
Cons
- - This is not a Guardian-stomping mega-DPS build. You can clear the Guardians and Shaper deathless with a good understanding of the boss mechanics over the course of 2-4min's, but most casual players will die at least once or twice in those encounters, especially in they have lower level/quality gem's, or attempt to completely face-tank the fights.
- - It's not as fast as wand builds because It doesn't have 600% movement speed. It's still very fast none the less though.
- - It's not as completely screen-shattering as the 1-shot trash clearing mega-AOE-sized Kinetic Blast builds. It still clears trash very fast none the less though.
- - The DPS drop's off noticeably against T10 map bosses and above. It's not like you can't kill them, it's just more like the bosses go from taking 1-10 seconds, to around 30-90 seconds. Bosses with 'phases' in their fights are a complete pain in the ass sometimes due to your life-leech effect wearing off. Having said that though, they are still easy to kill deathless, they just take more time.
Skill Tree
Ascendancy
1. Headsman (Do at Level 35-40)
2. Bane of Legends (Do at level 55-60 once the Act 6/7 lab trials are complete)
3. Endless Hunger (Do at Level 68-70, once the lab trials in Act 8/9/10 are complete)
4. Brutal Fervour
Basically it's up to you the order you do these in. 1 and 2 give huge boosts to your DPS, area of effect and attack speed.
Bandits
Help Oak for the Phys Damage Reduction, Life Regen and added Phys Damage.
Pantheons
Take the Soul of the Brine King major and Soul of Garukhan minor. The minor choice is up to your own personal preference ultimately.

- Rumi's Concoction Granite Flask. (Or a standard Granite flask is fine, too)
- Atziri's Promise Amethyst Flask. (Or a standard Amethyst flask is fine, too)
- Quicksilver Flask (Freeze/Frost Immunity, “+ Max Charges”, or whatever else you'd like).
- Stibnite Flask (Immune to Curses, Removes Curses).
Map Mods
Map Mod's It Can't Handle
- Cannot Leech Life (T11 maps and higher)
- No Regen (T11 maps and higher)
Map Mod's It Can Handle
- Everything else.
Map Mod's That Are Annoying
- Burning Ground (Can kill your FPS due to a bug in the game and makes things look choppy as you move around).
- Temp Chains (You move everywhere via Leap-slam so that's not the issue, what is annoying though is trying to collect the loot explosions with negative movement speed applied on your character).
- Elemental Reflect (You can survive easily due to general life regen and life leech, but you just have to attack enemies at a slower rate and allow the Ancest Warchief totem to do damage for you as well, so you don't get 1-shot by the reflect damage coming back off massive groups of enemies exploding at the same time).
Leveling
L1 - Head into town after the first initial boss kill during the intro and then take the cleave attack gem right away if you don't already have it. Socket it in an axe immediately if possible. If you are lucky enough to score a 3-link axe early, add in the Ruthless and Chance To Bleed gem's if it's a 3-red socketed axe (It will be a 1-handed axe, because 2-handed axe's don't start dropping until Level 4 or higher zones).
Switch over to a 2-handed axe as soon as possible (you can't equip one until you are at least Level 4) for the extra DPS. Now keep it and only upgrade to other 2-handed axe's that have the correct colour and linked sockets on them that you need. You can do this easily by just picking up the white normal 2-handed axes that are linked and have the correct colour sockets you need. The only stat rolls you need are Phys Damage, attack speed or “+ Level of socketed gems”. You can simply just apply a Transmute Orb to make the axe magic, then apply an Augmentation orb to give it a second magic stat roll. If you don't like the rolls, use orb's of alteration on it till you get a stat roll or two that you do like. Do the same for the rest of your items as well.
L3 – Take the quicksilver flask as a reward and equip right away. Hell, equip 3 of them with 1 health flask and 1 mana flask if possible (you can do this by creating 2 mule characters and running the first couple of missions to get the flask reward, then just equipping the extra 2 flasks on your actual character).
L5 – Take the ruthless support gem and put it in your helm, linked to Cleave if possible.
L5 - Take the Chance to Bleed support gem, slot it in your gloves.
L6 – Collect two 1-handed axe's, each with 3 sockets on them (they don't need to be linked) and place them in your alternate weapons slot. You can use these to level up alternate gems to sell later on.
L8 - Take the Maim support gem
L10 – Take the Leap Slam gem and now use this for your movement ability. Slot it in your weapon.
L12 – Take the Sunder gem now as soon as possible, using it instead of Cleave. Slot it in your helm.
L16 – Take the Blood Rage gem and slot it in your boots.
L16 – Take the Arctic Armour gem and slot it in your boots.
L16 – Take the Enduring Cry gem and slot it in to one of your two 3-socketed 1-handed axe's in the alternate weapons slot. You just level this gem as an optional extra skill to use later on from L45 onwards, when if a Unset Ring drops that has good stat rolls on it, you can equip this skill in it and use it to gain endurance charges quickly while levelling.
L18 – Take the concentrated effect support gem and slot it in your helm.
L18 - Take the Melee Physical Damage support gem, slot it in your gloves.
L20 – You can now equip the Unique Carnage Heart amulet from any point onwards.
L24 – Take the Hatred gem and slot it in your boots.
L24 – Take the Punishment support gem and slot it in your weapon.
L28 – Take the Ancestral Warchief gem, slot it in your gloves.
L28 – You can equip the Brightbeak unique weapon now in alternate weapon slot #2 from any point onwards.
Logic pro dmg. L31 – Take the Fortify support gem, slot it in your weapon.
L34 – Take the Summon Stone Golem gem and slot it in your boots.
L38 – Take the Curse on Hit support gem, slot it in your weapon.
![Melee phys dmg poe 2 Melee phys dmg poe 2](/uploads/1/2/5/0/125060382/550115224.jpg)
L38 – Take the Multistrike gem and slot it in your helm.
By the time you reach a lowly Level 38, you hit the milestone of being capable of equipping the entire build's skill and support gem's in your levelling gear. The game starts dropping 4-link possible gear (ilvl 25+) at L25 as well, which to be precise is “The Slums” in Act 3 and then any area/zone further on past that. So by L38 you have everything you need in all the correct types of gear and linked fully, with relative ease. Which is one of the reasons this build absolutely smashes through the levelling stages so easily.
L53 – You can equip the Prismatic Eclipse unique weapon in the alternate weapon slot #1 from any point onwards.
L60 – You can equip the unique Wings weapon from any point onwards.
L67 – You can equip the unique Bringer of Rain helm now from any point onwards.
L68 – You can now equip the Rumi's Concoction and Atziri's flasks from any point onwards.
L69 – You can now equip the unique Atziri's Step boots from any point onwards.
Melee Phys Dmg Poe 1
You can drop your mana flask when levelling at around Act 8 to 9 when your around L61, when you take the Shaper Node in the skill tree. The 40% increased mana regen rate you get from it should see you through from that point onwards easily without mana issues.
As for Twink unique levelling items…. they really aren't even needed. But as far as what's on offer cheap in the first couple of days of any season or race to help speed things up a little, the Reapers Pursuit (L33) and Blood Reaper (L45) are weapons each costing 1-alchemy orb. Unlinked Ashrend and Bramblejack chests are also usually about 1-ach each. As for gloves and boots – whatever floats your boat. It's unlikely any will be better than just having a pair that contains all your linked skill gems. You can check and see on poe.trade if anything you like is available at the time for a minimal cost.
Melee Physical Poe
A note about which axe level bases to skip using while levelling – the ilvl 36 “Dagger Axe” and ilvl 59 “Talon Axe” both have a 50% increased Crit Chance already on their base. You may want to avoid these as we take the Resolute Technique skill node on the tree fairly early, which means our hit's never crit and this stat roll will take one of the possible stat roll positions that we want to roll on the axe.
